Staff & Tour Guides

To be the best, you have to work with the best! Bike and Roll staff members are courteous, knowledgeable, and always willing to make your experience perfect. Bike and Roll is a locally owned and operated family business.

  • Stephen Marks Managing Member

Stephen is our Big Kahuna and has been with Bike and Roll DC for 12 years, having founded it as Bike the Sites. He is also a co-owner of Bike and Roll New York City. In addition to ensuring customers have the best experience when visiting DC, he is also in charge of snacks.

  • Janna Marks Managing Member

Since the early days of Bike and Roll, Janna has done it all! These days, her main role involves maintaining our reservation and sales systems and recruiting and interviewing potential new employees. She loves both the beauty and the controversial story behind the Jefferson Memorial.

  • Nikki Marks Business Manager

Nikki takes care of finances and HR and occasionally helps lead tours, which she describes as the most fun part of working for Bike and Roll. A Rockville, MD native, she studied Math and Psychology at the University of Vermont (go Cats!)

  • Troy Elmore Operations Manager

Troy oversees the daily operations of our 4 locations in the DC area. His mission at Bike and Roll is to make sure your time with us is the most memorable part about your trip to DC. Troy likes to spend his spare time with his English Bull Terrier.

  • Leah Nadeau Marketing Director

Leah is responsible for Bike and Roll’s marketing, advertising and branding.  She enjoys traveling, going to sporting events and a good historical conspiracy theory (especially when a tour guide weaves one into their tour narrative!)

  • Jason Walker Tour Manager

Jason is new to DC but a veteran tour guide. He grew up in a touristy town in New York and worked as a hiking and tubing guide in Honduras and lead cross-country road trip tours. As a relatively new DC resident, Jason looks forward to kayaking more.

  • Valentin Mupenda Assistant Operations Manager

Valentin helps manage the staff of each department and location. Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, he’s lived in Maryland since the age of three.

  • Annis Roberts-Terry Assistant Tour Manager

  • Matt Cook Fleet Manager

Matt manages our fleet of 600 bikes, 35 Segways, and various equipment to keep everything working properly and helps to make sure customers walk away satisfied with the look and feel of the bikes and Segways. He enjoys biking around Hains Point, where he can ride for a long time without traffic lights and with a view of the water.

  • Andrew Carpenter National Mall Location Manager

Andrew manages bike rentals out of our National Mall Location. Originally from the Philadelphia area, he stayed in DC after studying International Relations and Spanish at American University. He believes bikes are the best way to explore a new city.

  • Jen Shafer National Mall Tours Manager

Jen manages our Smithsonian National Mall tours and loves nerding out on history and sharing her knowledge with visitors. She is originally from Connecticut and thinks it’s time for Jane Krakowski to finally win an Emmy.

  • Rey Santos Alexandria Location Manager

  • Peter Chapanov Service Manager
