Visiting DC this Memorial Day weekend? Maybe you’re a local sticking around town and looking for something fun to do. Check out some of these great activities going on in the 202!
1. Downtown DC Location Opens!
We’ve been gone for a minute, now we’re back! Our Downtown DC location at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library will reopen Saturday, May 23! Now it’s even more convenient to rent a bike from us for the day! It’s just blocks away from the Grand Hyatt, Hotel Monaco, Ford’s Theatre, the Convention Center, and countless other places, convenient for visitors and locals alike.
2. National Memorial Day Parade/Concert
Since 2005, the parade, the largest of its kind in the US, has honored servicemen and servicewomen. The parade goes along Constitution Avenue and will take place Monday, May 25 at 2 p.m. The parade this year will also commemorate the 70th anniversary of victory in WWII.
Taking place Monday, May 25 from 2-5 p.m., Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise will host the event for the tenth year in a row on the West Lawn of the US Capitol. Performers include Gloria Estefan, Laura Benanti, the National Symphony Orchestra, and more! PBS will air the National Memorial Day Concert. Check your local listings.
3. Rolling Thunder
Hundreds of thousands of motocycles will race into DC on Sunday, May 24, for Rolling Thunder Ride for Freedom, beginning at the Pentagon at 7 a.m. and ending with a ride around the National Mall. The annual event honors soldiers and veterans missing in action.
