5 Ways to Ring in Spring in DC this April

The Cherry Blossoms may be gone, but it’s still springtime in the nation’s capital!  We’ve compiled a list of a few things to pull you from your winter hibernation and outside to enjoy the beautiful weather…Experience the great outdoors, drink some beer, go to a baseball game…and more!

1.) Go to a Nationals game!

With Bryce Harper coming in hot as the reigning MVP of the NL and new manager Dusty Baker calling the shots around the clubhouse…it’s bound to be an exciting season for the Nationals!  The Nats are at home April 9-14th and again from April 22-28th.  PS—there’s a free bike valet service at the ballpark—always a plus!

2.) National Park Week is April 16-24th

The National Park Service celebrates its centennial this year, meaning the 2016 edition of National Park Week is a can’t-miss. Throughout the week, all national parks will offer free admission, meaning you and your entire family can embrace the outdoors all over the DC area. 3.) DC Beer Festival

For all you beer lovers out there! The annual DC Beer Festival takes place on April 16th, on the field at Nationals Park, making for one of the District’s best outdoor parties of the year. Dozens of craft breweries will be spouting their seasonal suds, as local food trucks divvy out their tastiest eats. Prepare to compete in plenty of lawn games, with the whole shebang soundtracked by deejays. Tickets are available here.

4.) Go to a concert!

There are a number of concerts in DC this month—from Carlos Santana to Justin Bieber..there’s  a little something for everyone—check out this list for a full schedule.

5.) Smithsonian Craft Show-April 21-24th

This annual event showcases some of the most impressive sculptural design and objects in the U.S. Talented ceramic, jewelry, metal and furniture crafters – some 120 artists in all – will show off their creativity in an expansive exhibition at the National Building Museum.  Tickets are available here.
