One of the biggest annual celebrations in DC is going on now through April 12. Check out festival details and events. Peak bloom of the cherry blossoms is predicted to be April 11-14, but that could change depending on the weather. Don’t miss the Southwest Waterfront Fireworks Festival on April 4!
2. Blossoms by Bike
Come join us on the only official Cherry Blossom bike tour, which showcases the famous cherry trees and the sea of pink and white blossoms surrounding the Potomac Tidal Basin.
3. Bike and Boat Tours
Book your Bike and Boat tour out of our Old Town Alexandria location starting April 4, which includes a self-guided bike tour up to George Washington’s Mount Vernon, admission to Mount Vernon, and a return ride provided by Potomac Riverboat Company.
4. Filmfest DC 2015
From April 16-26, come see a wide range of extraordinary new films from around the world. The festival includes opening and closing night events, discussions with directors, movie premieres, and free programs for children and senior citizens.
5. 150th Anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s Assassination
April 14th marks the 150’s anniversary, and Ford Theatre is holding commemorative programming through May. Theatrical performances, ceremonies, a candelight vigil, walking tours, panel discussions, and more are happening throughout the city.
